Each student is allocated to a House when they enrol at the College. Our Houses are Carmel, Loreto, McAuley and Mercy. Numerous activities and competitions (such as swimming and athletics carnivals, arts festivals, debating) are held during the school year to foster and encourage teamwork and develop a sense of camaraderie.
Debating and Public Speaking
Participating in Debating increases confidence and the ability to work in a team effectively, it develops critical thinking skills, presentation and research skills and improves articulation, as well as assists students in developing a new view of the world around them.
Students from Years 7-10 have the opportunity to compete in the Debating Association of Victoria (DAV) and House debating competitions. Students can also participate in Plain English Speaking Competitions, Legacy Public Speaking Competitions, the United Nations Model Conference, British Parliamentary Competition and Frayne Speech Festival.
Drama studies are offered through to VCE level and, as a result, there are opportunities for students to perform in small concerts, at assemblies and through lunchtime clubs.
